They had. The Bethesda location is Frank Pepe Pizzeria’s mid-Atlantic anchor. The 104,000-pound coal-fired oven, built brick-by-brick to the exact specifications of the original New Haven oven, has been producing the same crispy, chewy, and charred apizza ever since.
